When they give you your due date it's more or less an educated guess. It's (your due date) plus or minus 2 weeks. The majority of first pregnancies go past their due date, however mine was a week early and I knew I was in labor however the doctor and nurses all said that the first time is always late. BS! If you're early, don't fret. Your baby will come when he/she wants to come. They know when it's time better than the doctors.

If this is your first pregnancy and you are healthy than odds are more likely that your baby will be late than early. The due date is actually when the baby is fully developed in the womb and the placenta is at it's peak. Within a week past the due date the placenta starts to wear down and two weeks after the due date, the baby should be induced because the placenta is about useless for supporting the baby. Therefore, if a baby is a born a little early, it is fine. The lungs are the last major organ to develope and once they have, babies are born healthy (usually).

70% come in the ten days before or ten days after the due date. These early ones are not really early since the method for determining due date is rather inaccurate.
If you are both healthy then don't worry. Worrying in pregnancy generally does more harm than good! Even if your baby does come early you've passed the point where the baby has no chance of survival and they are getting better and better at looking after premies.

I have had both my sons two weeks earlier then my due date. Both by c-section. It happens. Don't worry so much about it though as long as you and the baby are healthy then you should carry close to 40 weeks.

if your baby comes earlier then you were most probably a week or so more pregnant that what you thought. Thats why they let you go 2 weeks over, depending whether you concieved in the 1st half of the month or the 2nd half, as they only have your period date to go by, not the exact date of fertilisation.

Now they consider even 37 weeks to be full term. My son was born at 37 weeks with a healthy set of lungs and was in great shape.
If this is your first baby chances are you may even go over your 40th week. I know lots of moms who had to be induced after the 40th week because they never went into labor. Everyone is different. I had to be induced at 37 weeks because of preclampsia or I might not have went into labor myself being this was my first baby.

I am pregnant also and from what I read, 38 weeks onwards is regarded as full term.
If you are monitored regularly, BP is fine and feeling well, please God you and your little will be perfectly fine.
Only 3% of babies arrive on the date that is given.
Don't worry too much about them arriving early. If you are worried, talk to your GP or midwife about your concerns. That's what they are there for also. Best of luck and hope all will go well for ye...

if it is your first then will prob come late as mine did 14 days late to be exact. The worst thing you could do is worry just enjoy the time you have carring you baby and being pampered also the quality time with your partner as u dont get much when baby is here.

Your baby is ready to come at 37 weeks, so don't worry about it. Its a myth that you first baby will always be late. All my friends babies have arrive between 37-39.5 weeks. Although my baby is now 39 weeks tomorrow. So hopefully it will arrive soon :)
Don't worry and enjoy your pregnancy :)

One of mine was 5 days late, the next exactly on time and the next was a few days early.
So I don't think that "most" come early!
