I need to know how to show the difference on paper between actions and dialogue. I've lost my book on how to and the thing is due today. Thanks!

In a play you would put the actions in ()'s and the dialogue is just regular

Ex: Stacey: (picks up Baby Adyn) Hey , Addie!

Screenplay format has the action in a paragraph on the left and the dialogue uner the charachter's names. It should look something like this:

EXT: BOB'S GARDEN / NIGHT

BOB enters in a tweed suit and goofy bow tie. He has clearly been drinking. He is followed by CANDICE who wears an evining gown with an obvious wine stain on it.

A character's name would follow in the center of the paper in ALL CAPS. (Yahoo won't let me actually do it to show you)

Then the character's linewould be under that, also centered.
