How about a Bowie character? Ziggy Stardust/Alladin Sane, a red wig, chopped off a couple of inches long all over, go to town with the glitter, tight trousers & top, platform shoes, ott eye makeup & and hollow face blusher or face paint rainbow bands.
You'll create a sensation when you stop off at the off licence on the way to the party.

If you are female, go as one of the girls from Abba. Very distinctive and should be easy to source the FAB, GROOVY gear, plus loads of glittery eyeshadow, long blonde wig etc.

If you're guy - as above!

You can have your own Abba theme tune, like Dancing Queen, or Fernando - which you burst out with at various intervals, this is particularly good when you get stuck with someone boring and want to get away, or you want to gatecrash a group of people.

Practice your swedish accent, and have few catch phrases for using when you get stuck for something interesting to say.

Above all, have fun!
