I travel to London several times a month (from the US) and get to see the X-Factor quite often. I actually like X-Factor so much more than American Idol. I like the format with the 16-24's, the 25 and over, and the groups. American Idol just has one large group of 16-28 (29), so you don't get the variety of the X-Factor. I also like that each judge has his or her own artist group.

I'm enjoying X-Factor this year, Leona is unbelievable. Ray and Ben are a bit inconsistent but they're both very talented. I actually preferred last year with Shayne Ward, Andy Abramson and Brenda. (I actually liked Chico too!!)

I wish they would show the X-Factor in the states so we could see how much better it is then American Idol.

I can't remember the difference to be honest, is it not just the same show with a different name? I know that there a few rules that have changed like instruments on stage etc, but basically it's the same. The one we have in the UK, whether it be Idol or X factor is rubbish compared to American Idol - the talent on that show is fantastic.

I lurve the X - Factor but I think it has more to do with the judges than the format of each show!
Pop Idol took a dive when Michelle McMammoth won!

At least with X Factor, they will take people over the age of 25, which makes the auditions much funnier!

I think X Factor is better because there are no age restrictions and you can have groups, but the question is which winner will survive their 15 minutes, so it doesn't matter anyway.

We had one season of x-factor here (Australia), it didn't do very well and i can't even recall one contestant. Australian Idol on the other hand does very well here, and it's much better in my opinion.

oh yes x-factor is brilliant those with no talent make you laugh so much ,and those with talent get noticed when they probably never would and you have Simon wot a dish he is !!but i did read that next year they are not having Kate Thornton because they want a new face Dermot oleary was one name that was mentioned but Kate should stay

No, you know there really is not much difference apart from the people singing and simon has got more arrogant, and we are still voting, making people rich and famous for what ohh 5 minutes.
