Okay, here goes... I was about a month pregnant, but then I started bleeding heavily and then it stopped. I went to see a nurse and she told me that it was a miscarriage. But I still have several symptoms like morning sickness, dizziness, breast tenderness, frequent urination, etc. Is it possible that I'm still pregnant even after this happened? Is it possible to be carrying twins and have only one miscarry and still have the other one?

Yes, it is possible that you are still pregnant. The only way to 100% diagnose a miscarriage is with an internal exam. I bled heavily with 2 of my children around 6-8 weeks pregnant and upon exam, there was no signs of miscarriage. I was given an ultrasound and everything was fine. I was put on light duty for several weeks to be sure everything would progress as normal. Those 2 children are now 9 and 6.
Bleeding does not always mean miscarriage.
And yes, it is also possible that you miscarried one twin. It is extremely rare, but is possible.
My advice is to get into an OBGYN for proper tests. Blood work to determine if pregnancy hormones are showing up and an Ultrasound to see if there is a visible baby.
Good Luck!

first off, did u have an ultrasound to see if there was a fetus? if a nurse just tells u that u had a miscarriage and didn't recommend that u get a dnc, thats just crazy. if you have a miscarrage and u don't get a dnc (a procedure to get stuff out of ur uterus that could cause a deadly infection) u could run a very derious risk. It is possible to carry twins, but u should definetly go to the nearest ER so they can do an ultrasound on u and see what in the uterus. Another thing is make sure that they are also looking at your overies to make sure that u don't have an ectopic pregnancy. If u have one thats undetected ur tube can rupture and u could bleed to death. just go to the hospital honey and get checked out. don't just let someone tell you something without being sure ur in the clear. It could cost u ur life.

You need to go and have an ultrasound done. Without a proper examination, the nurse you spoke with can't possibly tell you that you miscarried. When I was pregnant with my oldest son (10 weeks along) I started bleeding heavily, there was no pain. I had my Dr check things out and I had a placenta previa (where all or part of the placenta covers the opening to the cervix). In my case it was only a part of it and it moved up as the baby and uterus grew. You really should get things checked out with an ob/gyn. Good luck!!

I have been pregnant twice with twins and have lost one of each which means I sill carried the other as a matter of fact one is 4 the other 2 tomorrow the first time i bled light and I still carried the sack for 7 months I was huge the second time I bled real heavy and the only proof they had was my hcg levels first they were high then they dropped then they were real high again so I'd have someone check your hcg levels my doctor said i had the strangest pregnancies ever maybe you too.

It is possible that you are still pregnant, however, it does take time for hormone levels to go back to normal. After my miscarriage, they drew blood to be sure that the pregnancy hormones (which give you those symptoms) were leaving my body. Yours may not. If you had a miscarriage they would have done a D & C and you would have nothing in your uterus. You need to go back to the doctor.

make a doctors appt. cuz to miscarry one twin is very possible. My mom carried twins for a couple months and then miscarried one. The other baby was healthy and has had a healthful life of 13 yrs.!

It's also possible that you were just bleeding and are still pregnant (not twins necessarily). My mother continued to bleed every month like she wasn't pregnant the entire time she was pregnant with me.

It 's better for you to do a full medical checkup to make sure the miscarriage is true or not. Sometimes it is otherwise so be careful.
