I fell for a older woman at work who had mental health problems (bipolar), divorced with 3 kids and debt problems!
Recently I went too far with my bipolar friend and was worried she would get hurt by this man she had been seeing who already had a girlfriend and been living with her for 3 years so I told him she had been sleeping around with me and others which she had so that he couldn't hurt her anymore and use her for sex. I also told people at work I was worried about her and worried for her 3 kids but the lady told me off for doing this, I only did all this because I cared for her and to make sure she was ok. She has since cut off contact with me and now I feel guilty

Are you for real? You could have caused serious problems for her by saying that you are worried for her kids. Are you worried that she will do something to her kids? You should not have told the guy anything. You should have told your friend what you knew about the guy. I think you just hurt her just as much as the other guy could have. Are all your facts straight?
You really need to lay it all on the line to your friend and apologize. Tell the coworkers you were wrong and apologize and tell the boyfriend you were wrong.
You just have to realize you messed up and make things right. Then you will forgive yourself.
If you are obsessed with this girl you need to get help.

You are obviously going through something because you have asked this question 5 times in the past 2 hours. You were wrong, period. You didn't do it out of concern for her, you did it out of jealousy and it has backfired on you. This whole relationship sounds like a bad idea anyway. She doesn't want to talk to you anymore, so leave it alone.

well i dont think you should have told anyone you work with , you relationship with her was privet to her and should have stayed that way, tellting her live in boyfriend was an isue too, why? well because of the 3 kids , perhaps to them he was a father figure, maybe he wasnt but still you had no place telling him that with out telling her that you were going to. I dont blame her for being mad , you in a way distroyed her home inviorment , a place of sacurity . but my advice to you is to write her a letter explaining your actions to her, she may or may not understand but at least you might feel better.

You should feel guilty...that was truly an assshole move you did. All you can do is apologize to her and give her your reasons for doing what you did. Don't expect her to forgive you; but at least you apologized.
