my friend told me that she got the sims2 nightlife and it erasd all of her previous families and it wont let her create new one's.she even told me that it erased all of her downloads. iv seen it myself.

It shouldn't dlete your downloads, i recently installed pets and everything is in working order. The booklet you got with the expansion gives you details on how to back up all your save files before installing so read and do that first.
To protect your downloads do this: Go to Documents, EA games, Sims 2. You should see your download folder. Move it to your desktop while installing and then move it back after. That way your downloads cannot be affected by the installation process.

it has never earased my stuff maybee it was faulty but i only have sims 2 dvd and sims 2 pets
