I heard once that the movie is inspired in true events, that there is really a part of the CIA that investigates that sort of thing. Tey even let one of the producers enter that place. But I don't know if it's true

Do you mean special agents in black that are dealing with the aliens from other planets? Yes, and they are all gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered. Hence the really cool outfits.
