It may depend on what the court orders and the regulations governing the 410K. Rather than get a loan and pay intrest you may be further ahead with court orders to split the 401K with a cash out of that portion you have to pay/recieve as the case may be.

Only and idiot would want to equalize assets. Stop the divorce long enough to hide your stuff. Then file after it has been taken out of your name or turned into cash.Some men like to hold resentments for the rest of their lives.....

Borrow against the 401K. the interest rate is usually pretty low and your money in the 401K is still making you money.
