I AM CURRENTLY 9 WEEKS PREGNANT. I AM GETTING MARRIED ON DECEMBER 29, 2006. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF I AM ABLE TO FIND OUT THE SEX OF THE BABY BY THE WEDDING, I WANT TO SURPRISE THE FATHER ON THE WEDDING DAY.

Maybe a little to soon. I found out at 16 weeks with my first pregnancy, but I've read that they can tell before then depending on how good your doctors sonogram equipment is. Good Luck and Congratulations!!

Chorionic Villus Sampling (CVS)
This diagnostic test is usually performed between 8 and 11 weeks gestation, sometimes as late as 13 weeks. This is generally a test for people who have a high risk of genetic abnormalities. Test results are available within 7 to 14 days. Miscarriage rate from CVS is about 4%, recent studies indicate that if the CVS is done before 10 weeks gestation there is an added risk (.5% to 1.7%) of limb deformity, and about 3% CVS is associated with serious decline in amniotic fluid protection. There is a greater incidence of false positives because of the differences between the cellular genetic material of the choirionic villi and the fetus. There is a small chance that the sex they determine is wrong as well.

sorry honey you have to be 16 to 20 weeks pregnant before sex can be determind. You can always plan a nice dinner when you find out and share the news then. Or you could hint around it until he figrues it out. Good luck and congrats on the baby and the wedding.

You'd have to ask the doctor, normally that'd be around 18-20 weeks, but you never know! You'll also want to check your insurance policy, most only cover one ultrasound unless medically nessecary... and thats the one they will do around 18-20 weeks because there are various things they'll check for!

Probably not. The earliest I've heard of is 16 wks. They can usually tell around 18 - 20 wks.

no you will not. you will only be able to tell from 13 weeks. i am going for mine on 21 Decemember then i will be 13 weeks.so you will have to wait untill after.

Im afraid you wont be far enough along. they usually tell the sex betweeen 18-20 weeks if i am not mistaken.
