The egg. Since it was an evolutionary process and so the egg had a gene mutation while it was being conceived and that created the first chicken as we know them today.

Its the egg because in the prehistoric time when chicken was not even around some dinosaurs layed eggs already so the egg came first and the chicken came later and chickens come from eggs then the chickens hatch and lay eggs still saying the egg came first.

The chicken had to have come first because it was a part of the creation process. Believe it or not, God created every living thing, he didn't create eggs first, he created chickens to lay eggs.

I suppose the answer must be the chicken, which evolved from a dinosaur (via several other things).
Dinosaurs in turn evolved (again via several other things) from monocellular organisms.
Why they evolved I don't know, it could be divine intervention but it could be almost any other concievable reason that makes some sort of sense.
So I think the answer must be the chicken.

Which come first? Chicken
Why? Read below. [Chicken came first, then the chicken lay eggs] this is Gods order of like on this.
1In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
20And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
21And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
22And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
