I’ve not heard from my friend for 2 months. Prior to that, I’ve sent her a postcard, had her and her mum over for food and drinks and then now she just rang to ask if we can meet to exchange Christmas presents! 2 WHOLE months, everyone!

Why not? Seems very exciting! It's just two months... Some of my close friends and I haven't seen each other four years and we're gonna meet on Feb next year. I feel so excited! Can't wait! :)

doesn't sound like the friendship is a very close one. your attitude won't help either. you don't say if you made any attempts to contact her from your side during these 2 months. if you haven't, you can't complain.
