I have posted a simliar question about sleeping problem before. I can't sleep at night. The best answer i got last time was because I don't move around as much. But i tried that. I tried to walk around, stretch, or just move around as much as possible and i still cant sleep at night. I would wake up every 20-30 min and i will wake up complete in 2 hours. Then i would have to roll around or get up and read or something to fall back asleep for another hour. I am so tired. What should i do? i took sleeping pills before and it didnt work either....

I had a very similar problem

I couldn't get to sleep at night to save my life. Whenever I did finally fall asleep, it wasn't for very long. I averaged about 3 - 5 hours a night. I am not now, nor was I then obese. Sleep apnea was not the deal in my case. All the warm milk and calming down and walking and working out and sex and stretching and sleeping pills and being still and drinking and EVERY thing else that people told me to try all did the same thing - fail.

I'm finally starting to get more sleep. How?

Well, in my case, it was a combination of things. The first was that I was traumatized when I went to war. That's when my sleeping problem began. i won't go into detail about it, but a traumatizing life event can definitely have a bad effect on your sleeping habits.
Another thing is that I was stressed out. Lack of rest causes stress, and stress in turn keeps you from being able to rest. Aint that something!

My suggestion would be to analyze your life and see whether you're stressed, and try to think back to when your problem began and see if there were any traumatizing events that took place.

hope this helps

This will sound strange, But are you overweight?

Overweight people have serious sleep apnea.
They stop breathing because of the thicker layers in their neck and gasp for air, waking themselves up.

It just might be an under functioning thyroid which also causes depression. Make an appointment and get tested, it just might solve the problem.

My Mother in law was 5 ft tall 168 lbs. She had horrible sleep apnea. She barely got 3 hours a night. She had been through the sleep clinics and had to use the pressurized sleep mask. It was horrible 10 years ago. So she would fall asleep without it at 7:30, then be awake by about 10 and up the rest of the night.
Unbelievable snoring while asleep and even when she was eating was a symptom also.

The Dr. tested her thyroid and found it was under functioning. He increased her Thyroid medication (Synthroid) and in three months she lost 17 lbs and the life time of sleep apnea went away after 30 years at least. She was 80.

Good Luck.

If you are waking up that often you probably have sleep apnea. That's when you stop breathing and your brain wakes you up so you resume breathing. You usually aren't aware of it happening, but you are aware of some of the symptoms like being tired all the time.

If you are obese, or carry a lot of weight in your abdominal area you are more likely to have sleep apnea as your diaphragm has a hard time to physically lift the extra weight. But even skinny people can have sleep apnea.

Please see your doctor. Sleep apnea can cause cardiac arrest. It's also dangerous because it can lead you to fall asleep during the day sometimes not even being aware of it which is not good particularly if you are driving a car.

The synthetic mild from the pc display (or even your cellphone) can slash melatonin (the sleep hormone) construction on your frame. Try taking a melatonin suppliment. I take 1mg melatonin on nights that I can not sleep and it really works like a attraction! The simplest downfall to taking melatonin is if you are taking it each night time your frame gets used to it and you're going to ought to broaden how so much you are taking. I attempt to simplest take it once in a while. I additionally love scorching tea containing camomile to aid me loosen up. Sleepy Time Tea with honey is amazing. :)
