I wouldn't recommend filling 'em up yourself, for a few quid go to this site and seeif there is a shop in your town.

I have a Canon which I tried with refill ink and it managed to clog and ruin the print head. Despite my best attempts to clean it out I had to bin it, on the other hand my friends dad has a Canon and he only ever uses refill ink.

So I can only assume that the ink quality must vary considerably.
In future I will stick with genuine products - just shop around for the best deal...Good luck

be carfull when using those refill type kits, the ink can be crap and end up damaging your printer. there are places that will professionally refill with a warrenty for half the price of a new cartridge. but be aware if your printer is still under warrenty you will not have a leg to stand on if i breaks down or cloggs up by using cheaper ink.

I have used the kind that you inject yourself and it wound up being a headache. You have to be really careful not to spill it and if you don't get the lid of the cartridge back on right you can seriously damage your printer. I just spend the extra money now it's worth it.

the quality is not very high. especially the colors will not be the same. the ink also did not dry so fast. Next time when you buy a printer, please ask about the supply cost, I suggest to buy an laserjet printer that works with tonner and is very economic. Canon and HP are the best.
