lol, yeah, wan't it to spin more?
try thinking of our universe as infinate! both in time and space.
it implies so many diffrent things, that everything has is and will happen, ruling out mutual exclusivity which is fundamental to our logic...
which is actually kinda confusing (our logic) because it seems there should be a beginning and end to everything because it just logically makes sense, but when you think of a begining you establish that, and then think, "what about before the begining?" where there is nothing, so you think of nothing, and out of nothing just pops everything, and that's just plain unlikely, so therefore we only exist by the merest of chances, and in logical terms, we shouldn't exist because theres just no reason we got here in the first place. Quite mind boggeling.
(please don't tell me, what ever religion you are, you haven't thought back to THE begining and wondered about it)
Seems the only logical explanation is that everything always existed, and disregarding scientific evidence, it's just plain hard to accept psycologically, at least for me

For all the big deal that Christians make of eternity, they sure don't have much of a concept of it.
The popular view is that you will spend eternity singing in the Choir Celestial, praising God, but not because He needs praise, because He is perfect and needs nothing. You will sing in the choir and you will enjoy it. Forever.
Then the Catholics speculate that in Heaven, only God gets to sit down. Well, God and the angel who is keeping records.
But wait. God can't get tired, and He has a perfect memory. Why would God need a record-keeper? Is He sitting down only to impress the peons? I find that hard to believe. Oh, drat! This really IS a conundrum, isn't it?
Now I am getting confused!
If you read the Book of Revelation, you will perhaps think that getting to Heaven is more fun than probably being there will be.
I think it says we get to live in a perfect world ruled by Jesus for 1000 years before we go upstairs. I am not sure why the 1000 years is the limit and why going upstairs is a good thing. Perhaps much training is required to enjoy singing hymns for all of eternity...
The whole Eternity thing might seem to some like waiting for a time-share condo presentation...
If you don't like Heaven, I don't think there are any decent alternatives. If you don't like Mickey, there is always Epcot Center . Am I making Uncle Walt seem like a better crowd-pleaser than the Almighty here? I don't think I meant that...

make my head spin? not really.. it scares me sometimes, though. But I learned sometime ago that I'm just human and my puny brain can't contain eternity in it, that there will always be something I won't get or know. And once I accept that, it's a lot easier.

No, it is so simple. We have to believe that only our body will die and soul will have eternal life. You should not worry too much about it. Believe that after death there is a life which will be without any problem suffering or pain. We need not like nowadays pray to hear from god. Then everything will be given to us and god will be in front of us. Is it not beautiful? You think that way and your head will not spinn.

a few things. why do you put a capital e for eternity? second, are you even sure that there is such a thing? i mean, eternity would have to be linked to the (largely western) concept of linear time (time as a line running from past to present to future), the line moving on ever into more and more distant futures. secondly, why even think about eternity (i know, its tantalising) - our perspective is the here and now, its thinking about eternity that gets us all out of focus and starts us all ranting and raving about gods and eternal life etc because we can't accept our own mortality

Eternity means timeless, which implies no change. It is change that gives us all headaches. Constancy at worst could merely be boring!!
