In fact both music and song sharing and associating with each other,but music is instrumental non verbal (as you mentioned) while song is mostly lyric and express by words but I would like to emphasize that some kind of song is non verbal for example: vocal song

The song really refers to the lyrics and the music refers to the melody or the certain type of music, at least that's what I think. ;)

i would say song is verbal and music is intruments the rythm or beat the we listen when instruments combine to make a rythm:)
