I adore Mariah but I have to say, she was better doing the stuff that shot her to fame in the first place and got everyone listening. There are hundreds of female RnB singers who wear as little as possible and sing tuneless songs with a rapper talking over them in the background but there aren't a hundred artists out there who have such stunning voices and can showcase them in the beautiful ballads Mariah used to sing.
Having said that, We Belong Together was the first good song she has released in the last few years and it echoed her former glory.

I like the old Mariah a lot better than the new one. Not only were her vocal ranges more expansive but she was a LOT more down to earth. The whole "divatude" thing is annoying and takes away from her talent.

I prefer the old Mariah Carey also. The new one is kind of skitzo. Just listen to her songs, there are some underlying issues there.

Definately the old Mariah, she was fab then and concentrated on her fantastic voice.
The new one is only interested in showing of her figure and big boobs and not on her music. She has also got to be a bit of a diva.

I never liked her anyway, but I think the older one was better. She's become ridiculous since she started to act like a sex symbol and hanging out with rappers. When she was married to Tommy Motolla she only showed one side of face to photographers and you'd never even have dreamt about her music being "urban".

Thats because she used to have a multi octive voice which could reach any note on the musical scale. Now she doesn't, not quite sure why.
Maybe it was due to all the drinking binges in the past. It's a shame really I thought she was gonna be a legend. I think she's sold her self out! But we all have our own opinions I guess.

there are smethings i like both about the old and new her, like the old her could belt out the notes but then she hit the notes to many times the new one actually sings properly but then she is trying to be 21 again.

She's evolved with time and thats whats up now. Women arent daydreaming anymore where shaking off these deadbeats and acquiring the ones who deserve us.

I have no doubt that her amazing vocal spectrum is very good, but she hides it well by singing like a deranged sparrow.
