itis means inflammation and the first bit tells you the organ that has the inlfammation.
Seveeral causes including being allergic to the condon, knickers, talcum powder, soap used in the bath etc and I have know the flannel material causing this.
Treatment is find the cause.
Allergies are a matter of detective work.
Drink cranberry juice from the chiller section of the shops not the open shelves that contains more sugar. eat cranberries, and also any other berried fruits that are fresh.
Wash garments in plain soap flakes or just plain water in the machine. Softener causes many problems.
Sitting, don't wriggle and upset the area. It can cause rubbing on the vagina if you wriggle. [Think about it].
If you wear sanitary towels then change often as if not you run the risk of bacteria settling in for a feast.
wash the area in plain water.
Take a capsule of friendly bugs each day like Quest non dairy.
Take four capsules a day not with food.
Hope that helps

Hi,
Vaginitis is the swelling or discomfort caused by vaginal infections in females.
Vaginitis is characterised by a yellowish-white discharge from the vagina, irritating and sometimes itching. The character of the discharge or pain differs according to the causative agent. In case of bacterial vaginosis, the discharge is thin and has a fishy smell. Trichomoniasis is characterised by heavy yellow or grey discharge, discomfort during intercourse, vaginal smell and painful urination.
The treatment for Vaginitis is as under
Vaginitis should be treated with an appropriate course of antibiotics. It is very important to treat the male partner even if he does not have symptoms, otherwise the infection keeps recurring in the woman. If the full treatment is not taken, the infection can recur. In case of trichomoniasis, it is preferable to eliminate the parasite. Metronidazole is the best drug for the treatment of trichomoniasis. People taking this drug should avoid taking alcohol as a severe reaction with nausea and vomiting can occur. For candida infection, the doctor may prescribe tablets that may need to be placed in the vagina (pessaries).

Vaginitis is an inflammation of the vagina. It usually occurs with a hormonal imbalance and an infection with a microorganism. It is also associated with changes in the acid/alkaline balance, using tampons, condoms, or from douches, sprays and can be from antibiotics. The microorganism that causes this is trichamonas vaginalis. Repeated infections can indicate HIV.
Treatment for it is an Anti fungal medication taken orally, prescribed by a doctor after an exam. Some times the partner needs to be treated too, if the vaginitis keeps re-occurring

Vaginitis is a diagnosis based on the presence of symptoms of abnormal discharge, vulvovaginal discomfort, or both.
Treatment may include sitz baths and instruction regarding proper toilet and hygiene techniques. Many women assume vaginal symptoms are the result of an STD, which is often not the case. A patient's idea of vaginal normalcy may be inaccurate and result in increased or unnecessary treatment seeking.

The "itis" at the end of the word simply means inflammation . There are so many different types that can be caused by STD's that it is best to see a Dr., especially if this is the first time a woman has had one. The most common is a yeast infection which is easily cured with Monistat that you can buy from the pharmacy But see the Dr. if this is the first infection to rule out other causes.

vaginitis is inflamationion of the vagina. see a doc. to be properly diagnosed. this is just one type of yeast infection.
The three general causes of vaginitis are hormonal imbalance, irritation, and infection. Hormone-related vaginitis includes the atrophic vaginitis generally found in postmenopausal or postpartum women and, occasionally, in young girls before puberty. Irritant vaginitis can result from allergies or irritating substances. Infectious vaginitis is most common in reproductive-age women and is generally caused by one of three types of infections: bacterial vaginosis (BV), candidiasis (yeast infection), or trichomoniasis. A healthcare professional should be consulted for the diagnosis and treatment of any vaginal infection.Vaginitis -

The vagina has a natural odor which often seems offensive to women. Wash with warm water and mild soap, use a prepared douche such a Summer's Eve if you wish, spray with a feminine deoderant spray or use baby powder. There are suppositories called Norforms which will help too.
