Yes, but he did have more talent than the American Idol folks. Listen to some Memphis Slim or John Lee Hooker, and ask yourself if Elvis coulda ever written any of that.

No, I think he played an importatnt part in the development of contemporary music and for his time was cutting edge, no one after him has really managed to define what is acceptable behaviour for a musician or truly influence aspiring musicians.
Not a fan myself but dont regard him as overated.

Absolutely not! He wasan extremely talented man. I saw him in one of his last concerts and still get chill bumps whenever I hear him sing!
