How important is sentence structure and puncuation? Do you get annoyed if words are not strung together "just so?" Or is the overall image created the most important to you?

Personally for me, I look for the overall image. I have read very many striking poems which were so different in terms of sentence structure but had an appeal which was so powerful. I realize that everyday new barriers are being broken and new styles emerging. Human expression when expressed in the overall image of a poem touches the reader so profoundly that some part of the human experience changes so much for the better.

I believe anything that makes you feel something is a good poem, even if the words don't rhyme or the meter is off. I am a published poet... I even have a book of poetry for sell on amazon.com (In a Perfect World, by Michelle L Devon - shameless plug, I know)... the poems I receive the most comments on are the poems I know I wrote with the most emotion. I think it's the overall image and feeling that a poem gives that makes it really good.

Poems for me should convey an emotion, when the meter and structure and whatever it is that makes up a poem are out of wack it's kind of like having someone tap you on the shoulder while you're making out.
A lot of people today string a whole line of words together just as you said, and once the line doesn't go all the way to the other margin, badda bing, badda boom: it's a poem. Sheesh.

my take in this it's an exciting procedure nevertheless I am feeling a bit of of disjointedness, the moment verse describes them the prosperous and (slaps head) k I learn it once more I am mistaken it does the final line turns k sorry the poem is exceptional as is. will have to cross to mattress as answering at the moment of the night time usually I can learn it two times and it's not till I begin my critique I see the flip is honestly there, because of this, there's a little bit of a quandary for the worn out brain. however it's transparent ample for the awake... well night time!
