More specifically the batteries of cordless drills. I have a brand name one but both of the batteries it came with have lost it's ability to hold a charge. It is only about a year and a half old also. Replacement batteries are expensive! Is there a trick to revive them?

Nope I think you'll have to buy new ones.

Put a battery in and leave the drill on overnight. Then try to charge the battery. Sometimes this works. Good luck

Usually no, just buy a new drill. its cheaper than a pair of new batteries. you can try to put your batteries though a couple of charge/ discharge cycles to see if they come back but I never had any luck doing that. Give them a full charge and then completely discharge them by putting them in the drill and tying the trigger on. don't forget to make sure your charger is work too.

No there isn't, you must have a cheapo, my Makita 14.5 lasted me 18 years between two batteries switching around. Everyday construction use.

Take them back to the place where you got them, see what they say, seems there should be a longer life than that.

I always put batteries in the sun for a bit. That always seems to rejuvenate them.
