In monocots, roots are adventitious, while in dicots they develop from the radicle.

In monocots, vascular bundles in the stem are scattered, in dicots arranged in a ring.

Stems:
Monocot(yledon)-Vascular bundles (xylen & phloem) are scattered.
Dicot(yledon)-Vascular bundles form a ring pattern.
Roots:
Monocot-Vascular bundles appear in a ring pattern.
Dicot-Xylem is in central part of root, with phloem just outside of the xylem (example-carrot).
