is a 1.3 megapixel handphone camera good?

Good for what? For taking great photos to print and put in a scrapbook or album or frame? No. For sending to your friends and family on their phones, or for showing someone? Yes.

I dont think so.

Reasons:
- anything less than 2mega pixels and you have too small images. If you are thinking about printing, then you better have 3mp
- handphone lens are generally not of very good quality, so you get lots of noise in the pics
- handphone cameras dont come with very good light sensors, image processors. So the final image may not look that good.

But if you are thinking of keeping the images for inphone viewing i think 1.3 is good enough.

FYI, i have a 1.2mp sony w550i and its decent as long as i keep the pics in phone.

1.3 Mp camera is good..but nowhere you can compare it with a digiCam of 3.2 Mp camera.

The pictures with 1.3 Mp camera are good enough to be recognized and printed as photographs..

if you use the Digital zoom of the camera you loose the clarity

You need to take the picture in an ambient illumination , and dark or highly illuminated spots will spoil your picture..

if you follow the above precaution you get the maximum out of th e camera..

Try googling for samples images of these pictures taken with 1.3 Mp camera..you get a fair idea on how it looks..

To conclude i would say that 1.3 Mp camera is more than enough for mobiles better go for 2.Mp camera..it doesnt cost much..

depend on you need if you a photograhper or just loving good art the 1.3 is not suitable but for usual use is ok next time try to mention the camera type CMOS or VGA.
