Getting up is hard, staying up is even harder, not getting covered in white stuff is impossible.

i found it really really easy i was always really bad at skiing couldn't do the snow plow and ending up falling into a river because i couldn't stop. I like snowboarding a lot more it's a strange feeling at first because you have to lean back or forward in order to stop by putting your edge into the snow. Getting on a ski lift is difficult but cable cars are OK. You need to practise to do jumps but general manoeuvring is easy
Turning is easy though and it's fun and you look cool

I don't like anything to do with skating or moving fast on snow or ice. I always end up twisting, spraining, bruising or breaking everything in my body. Not for me.

I experienced learning snowboard alone, and I didn't find it hard at all, even if my butt doesn't share this opinion.
Compared to ski, snowboard is demanding more physical commitment, but you can take pleasure quite soon.
Of course you'll crash often at the beginning, but when collapsing on skis, you have to gather your paraphernalia all over the place (at least 4 items - skis and sticks); when collapsing on snowboard, you release a few seconds break and then go along.
You just have to be very very patient and self willed to pass the "I'll never manage to ride this" stage which is quite overwhelming on the very first try.
(sorry for language - I'm french - nobody's perfect)

You need a strong centre of balance, strong legs and ankles, and no fear of falling flat on your face.
