Most of the co-workers , supervisor and boss for the company i work for dont like me. The place that i work for has alot of people that dont like my kind of race. I mean no problem with that you dont have to like my race if you dont want to. It is a free country. But everymorning I work from 5am-3:30pm on a normal day. First two hours are overtime. Sometimes I have stuff to do and a family to take care of at times. So I cant "always" stay after 3:30, they tell me if "I" dont work overtime. I will lose my job and dont have one. But alot of other co-workers dont work overtime either, they go home when their regular day is over. And they still have their job. I know they are just waiting to get rid of me. I mean I know that they dont like my race. But that isnt right for them to get rid of me because of it. But if they do fire me, it is a At Will State. They can fire you regardless. They can give you a reason or not. What is a way a can prove they fired me because of my race?

They can fire you, but they certainly can't SAY it's because of your race. If you contest this, they will deny, deny, deny. Did they make it clear before you started working there that you were required to work overtime? At my job, it is part of the expectation that everyone will have to work overtime, but we get paid overtime for working more than 40 hours. Good luck -- you got shafted.

OK - when you were originally hired, was there any discussion of overtime? If you were told that the job involves overtime, and now feel that you cannot do it, they may be able to fire you for cause.
If you feel that you are being discriminated against, you need to contact your EEOC. Even if you are in an At Will or Right to Work State, you cannot be discriminated against because of your race, age, gender or sexual orientation.

There are ways you can prove it. However, there are also ways they can prove that you're fired not because of your race but because of your performance.

You must know it by yourself. Did you do well in your job? Have you not miss any deadlines? Have you been a good team player?

Sorry this has happened. I really can't add more than has been mentioned. It is very hard to prove discrimination but worth a try. What a lousy place to work.

Go to Citizens Advice Bureau and ask them about CONSTRUCTIVE DISMISSAL ... this could be what is happening here.
