Yes it is possible for a woman to produce milk if she is not pregnant. Hormones drive the production of breast milk. Prolactin, a hormone created by the pituitary gland, makes breast milk. If you stimulate the breast enough to increase prolactin levels you will get milk.

It may be wise to get yourself checked out by a physician if you are not pregnant and producing breast milk. There are other hormone imbalances that could cause this and it is best to see a doctor who can check for these problems.

Though boys and men have nipples, it is not so often understood that they also have mammary glands (and can, in fact, get breast cancer). Ordinarily there is so little mammary tissue that it is unnoticeable; if the male breasts develop visibly, the condition is called gynecomastia. Under the appropriate hormonal stimulus—that nature provides to human females when they become pregnant and give birth—the mammary glands of human males can also produce milk. The volume of milk produced is low relative to that of a lactating female.
