Until fairly recently (post- WW II I think) at least some states allowed Reseravation-based Native Americans to marry under customary law according to the rites of their tribe.

Today, all Native Americans need to get a state-issued marriage license. However, a number of states still recognize common-law marriage, so that's an alternative there: http://www.nolo.com/article.cfm/objectID/709FAEE4-ABEA-4E17-BA34836388313A3C/118/304/192/FAQ/

All anti-miscegenation laws in the USA were invalidated by the Supreme Court in Loving v. Virginia: http://supreme.justia.com/us/388/1/case.html Any (unmarried) man and woman of legal, marriageable age, may marry -- in any state or province of North America -- without regard to race.

Certain tribal rights may be lost once a person's degree of "Indian blood" falls below, say 50%. That is the percentage fixed in the Jay Treaty (1794) which entitles "Indians" (Native Americans, First Canadians, Inuit) to move and work freely between the USA and Canada.

On validity of customary marriages in Canada see: http://www.ainc-inac.gc.ca/pr/pub/matr/cm_e.html

What are you like from 1867 or something? American Indians and WHITES are no longer fighting. American indians are in the Senate and Congress and in all state government and yes they can get married to the round eye. Stop playing Tonto and grow up fool!

You need to learn about America. Americans can marry anyone they want, go where they want, do what they want, and say what they want. As long as they are not hurting or stealing from another person we are free to do as we wish.
