Because if you do that you run the risk of being hurt. Trust me - you aren't alone in this. Love (and life) involves risk - "no guts, no glory". If you risk love, you risk pain, but you also have the chance for extreme happiness. Love and life are a gamble - good luck to you in both.

Maybe because you are afraid of being rejected or hurt. Maybe because you have been hurt before. A family member, friend, or lover hurt you so deeply you are afraid of reaching out again. I can understand. But it comes to a time where you need to let go of the past hurts. It doesn't mean you have to forgive them, just let it go. Because if you don't it will follow you like it is now and make you weary of trusting others. Yes you may trust again and there's the possibility you could be hurt. That's the chance you will have to make. You can't punish yourself over and over again and you can't put all of this fear on to the next person you want to be in a relationship with. Because what that means is you aren't letting this new person start from scratch, you have set them up to fail because that's all you feel inside. I hope that made some sense. Take care.

That's because you simply fear of rejection and disappointment.
You need to take a trip down memory lane to your past which made you to be the person you are today. Perhaps from there you've missed something incredibly important that you didn't have it all that makes you afraid or uneasy to express love to others because you've hurt so many times before. And since you didn't have that basic thing from your past, you simply don't know how to love other and fear to love as well.

Perhaps the fear of being turned down or the fear of pain. Everything in life involves taking risks. One cannot know the joy if one does not know pain. it is all part of growing up. If you really want to live life, be willing to take the risks. As a popular saying goes: " IT IS BETTER TO HAVE LOVED AND LOST , THAN NEVER TO HAVE LOVED AT ALL."

Because you might not be getting or realising love from even your relatives and friends. Today people are so much behind money, they think that only money can solve their problem. In gaining money (or in making career) they don't realise that they r losing the most valuable small beautiful moments of laughter and love. We r behind permanent and abundant happiness but that is not possible in this fast changing world. Easily possible are tiny (micro) happiness which we often neglect.
One great saint have said," Love is not about getting but giving."
So give love to all but expect from none. Because more you expect the more u will get upset. Because you will not get the desired.
Be assured that the whole world might fight you but there is god who is always loving you, with taking anything in consideration.
