I do understand that in some situations, like if the food was totally mixed up, really bad, or if the server has been rushing you and giving you crap all night long.
Do you feel that it is wrong that a customer skips out on their bill even though everything has gone right?
I am a waitress in training, and I even mentioned to the customers if they were okay felt okay with me as their waitress for the evening and all. It wasn't a busy night, never ignored them, suggested feature menu items, never got their orders wrong, (they were very specific assholes too) and above all asked them how was the food and if they needed anything else.
I even said if there was anything wrong just let me know and I can fix it for them and they said NO!!!!!!
They even seemed to be happy and all too and ate ALL OF THEIR FOOD! But they ran out, without paying their food.
Now did I do anything wrong or is it them? That meal came out of MY PAYCHECK!!! NOT TIP, PAYCHECK! CUSTOMERS THINK IT'S TIP, NOT TRUE.

By the way they weren't kids but ADULTS!!!! A modestly dressed Black man and a Filippino woman (who was a dike), also modestly dressed. I can understand if customers don't agree to what they could be served but usually when people skip out bills is because they complain about them, but these people had no complaints!
When they were leaving a hostess spoted them and asked why they were RUNNING! Their LIE, oh we're in a hurry we are running late! If they were really running late they had a lot of time to ask me for their check because it wasn't a busy night! Plus I repeadily asked if they were okay too and not once did they say they were ready to go!

In the state of California, they do allow management to take it out of servers paychecks and that really sucks because most of us work minimum wage.
However, I still also kind of work at my old job that pays $13 an hour so I am lucky I have that as back up, especially for a college student.
And no one in the restaurant could get their plate number, because this restaurant is located in a mall. But we have cameras, so I couldn't understand no one saw them leaving that way.

As a Customer eating at an Restaurant, when the food is bad and slow getting to the table, one should request a talk with Management.
As a waiter, you have been nice and done your best with everything going wrong, then you are to be commended.
Many people will cause trouble and make a scene, even though 99.9% of the customers are fine with everything, only to have a nice meal given to them by management. Many will stick the waitress with their large bill, a very low and dirty thing to do to a waitress, WHO IS NOT working for her health or to get rich, since a waiter makes only a little over $2.00 plus tips. But the sadder thing to me is management taking the money out of your pay, the only way you could have stopped them from walking out is to stand by any table with food and follow them to checkout. Sorry for your loss of wages and managements weak bones!

People are most picky I noticed on the low end of food, Bagels, Pizza, diners. I always tip, I've been on the receiving end of tips, so I know how important it is. Even If I didn't like the food, I always tip, I just don't go back, I usually try a new I-talian restaurant by ordering "Spaghetti with olive oil, and garlic", that usually tells how good they are without dropping a bundle. I ordered it from a restaurant my friend was bragging about, it came over cooked, kinda burned, and bitter, I just left it on the plate, asked for the check (was polite to the waitress), left a tip, (it's not her fault), and said "Ya know we're really late for a movie, THANK-YOU", I've worked in kitchens, nothing sends a message back to the chef clearer, than food that has had 1 bite taken out of it, and left, it is a clear indication that you think his FOOD SUCKS ! I've seen chef's throw pans around because of this ! Also try and remember that some people are ********, you can hand them the world, and they are NOT happy, I noticed however, that when you deal with them in their business, they get all frustrated if you even ask a question, yet, when given the opportunity to complain about others, they dive on it, people SUCK ! Don't worry, a low class move like walking out without paying, will come back to haunt them, I once walked out without paying but, it was by accident, I often frequented the place, I realized what I did, ran back in, paid, tipped, apologized, and everyone just laughed, and said "I guess he finally got mad at us" I laughed too and said "NEVER" ! I love this place, the food is great, you can tatse everyones hard work in it". It's just a great family place, that the girls ALWAYS make sure that my "Little man" (he's 4yrs old), is hooked up with a napkin, a covered drink, and entertained, so that mommy and Daddy can enjoy at least one meal, They make our lives so much easier, and WE APPRECIATE THAT !

It is considered shoplifting, and is a crime. You should have reported them to the police, if you didn't. Maybe you still can. However, they could be in another state by now. I'd notify the police, and I think it is wrong for the management to take it out of your check. You should look into whether or not it is legal for your bosses to do that - I'm guessing labor laws might say that is a no-no... it wasn't you that made the decision to skip out on the bill - you aren't the thief.

its retail theft no diff from tucking a diamond ring in your pocket...learn a bitter lesson and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law, get previous info if youre suspicious, try to get plate number etc. make a police report even if your employer doesnt want to...if they dont want to then they can eat it not you.

That's wrong. same as stealing. i don't think most people know you end up paying for it. I know I never did till recently. Bring them the check early don't wait till they're finished.
