what is this string??

sometimes when i go to the bathroom i have a string of white stuff come out is that normal?? and when and how do you know that you are ovulating and is that when you are most likley to get prego??

by a string of white stuff I am hoping you dont mean in your urine because that would be a UTI. (bladder infection)

As to if it is from your cervix, then that would be egg white cervical mucous which does occur right before ovulation and during. But you can not rely on that because sperm can live in your body for several days.

If you want to avoid pregnancy, use protection.

first off if you just had sex when that happened and you didn't use a condom and your partner came inside you it was just his semen leaking out, if you had a condom on or he didn't come inside you it was your overload of fluid. now if this happens randomly try to pay attention to it, timing wise, usually when your about to ovulate (ready to get pregnant) your vaginal secretions become thinner and less viscous (runny) this is so the sperm can travel through your vagina, cervix, and into your uterus easily without being forced to swim through some thick secretions (cause they just aren't strong enough to make it through all that fluid, so your body knows this and helps them out) this whole fluid situation may be answering your ovulation question for you already.
