You’ve started a heated debate between Dorothy and I on this one. Obviously the worst thing must be to die, but I don’t think you mean that in your question.
For me, the worst thing that happened to me was when I decided to enter the Piranha Jugglers Competition, 2006, here in my village.
The competition was very fierce with Harry Primwell taking a strong lead in the preliminary rounds with 4 piranhas in the air at one time and a double back flip (this gets 2 extra points). I managed to get to the finals with 4 piranhas and quick click on the heels as I was doing it.
The final was very tense and I decided to go for the glory of attempting the ‘Amazon Trouser Trick’ which was last attempted by my grand-father, Branwell, in 1926.
I managed to juggle six piranhas in the air, and the final part of the trick was to drop each down the front of my trousers. This I achieved to the loud applause of the crowd. Then disaster! I had forgotton to put on my armoured underpants. The piranhas started nibbling and biting. It was agony. Fortunately Dorothy came to rescue and quickly pulled down my trousers and flicked the piranhas off my body taking a fair amount of flesh with them in their teeth.
Apart from the embarrassment of standing their with no trousers in front of the entire village, I spent the next three days in hospital, and romantic liaisons with Dorothy were off the menu for six months.
Hope this helps.

Standing on the other side of the wild river, I look back at the treacherous rapids, unexpected, emerging and submerging as they flow along. I do not think I would ever like to venture into its waters again despite the fact that I have crossed it once, as I stand safely shore. I feel proud of myslef. Although I have been exposed to a great danger and I have lost few things along the way but I cannot help feeling a sense of triumph over adversity. The experience has made me realise my own capacities and strengths.
I know that nothing in our life stays constant; nothing therefore would stays as ‘the worst’ for too long. This is one fact that I would like to keep firmly in my mind. There are things I would not like to reoccur in my life, but as they once did now they are mine. I now realise how positively they have contributed in my life in the end.
There are things could hit real bad at times despite our good expectations, anticipations and hopes. And then there are things that happened long ago, and only their full realisation is taking place now. They simply would not go away with time until we learn to appreciate them differently.
It can never be determined what could amount up to be the universally worst thing happening to someone. People may lose things of value but they alone would know the actual loss. Then there are things common to all, things like health. When someone loses something like this then all can understand fairly accurately what could this mean to someone. Most generally however, the loss of quality of life is the most threatening thing, as no one would like to suffer from physical and mental handicaps in life, for instance. But the worst of all things that can push us into utter misery and pitiful state of existence is the loss of the value of the experience of our life; human suffering for example can have huge life enhancing potential for certain people. We must regard all things in our life as valuable, and with respect.

How reliable or undesirable you're purely effects how others in society view you, and if you're undesirable adequate you may want to get some judgment adversarial to you. yet many times it makes no distinction if you're reliable or undesirable so a procedures because the UNIVERSE is in contact. I positioned that in all caps so human beings might want to be conscious that i'm no longer suggesting that you be undesirable. maximum persons attempt to be reliable through the indisputable fact that is what makes it undemanding for us to have a society and get alongside with others. yet because the universe is the source of reliable and undesirable issues that ensue to human beings, it would want to care a lot less even if you're socially nicely behaved or no longer.

Nothing........ is the worst thing that could happen..... because nothing happens.... so, what then is the point to life....?
But, I once heard that there was a song back in the 60s....
It was about a, then, governor....
It was stated: "May he get caught up in a 6 car accident while striking a match wagon going over the grand canyon".....
What a thing, huh?!!!
Your sister,
Ginger

I guess is to lose their self-esteem and any appreciation for life. Maybe to lose their mental faculties or physical abilities. Losing somebody loved is hard, but most people go through it through their lives and carry on. Losing something from yourself gets people to kill themselves, so I guess that's the worse thing that could happen.
Also, growing up surrounded by abuse in any sort of way, it's going to affect the rest of your life, especially if it came from the people that were meant to look after/love you

1. It's all relative to what you consider the worst thing.
2. What you may consider the worst thing, another may brush off as nothing to get the wind up over.
Good Luck and Warm Wishes.

Watched a documentary about Jonny Kennedy who was born with EB. He had a genetic condition which meant that anything touching his skin would make it fall off, leaving raw sores all over his body. He lived in constant pain until he was 36 years old when he died of cancer. Can you imagine never living a day of your life without excruciating pain? That would have to be the worst ever.

Being killed.
Realising, after the fact, that you have let down, betrayed, someone who really matters to you. How are you going to make things right again? First rule, to your own self be true. Second rule, don't make promises you know you can't keep.

Being saved from a disaster by the very person whom one was planning to harm severely. This can cause a colossal of self disdain which is the most painful feeling one can experience.
