You probably right, but here's my opinion. Once Becky pointed as the England national squad captain he never played the same again. Just watched all England matches after he led the team, he played not as good as before he took over the captain badge. Well to be honest I despise him from the beginning but I did notice the different.
About Terry, he played well with Chelsea before Abramovich and his money come. He showed some good leadership so he's appointed as the captain. Look when he's leading England, still a fine good player but hey he just led them for few games. I said let's give Terry more time, he'll show he's a good captain. Eventhough I'm a Liverpool fan, from the very first time Becky resigned I know that Terry suits the job.

No, just because every one knows him and hes been playing for ages, dosent mean he is a beta captain. Any way David Beckham has retired fro international football so he will neva be captain of the england side again. Jon terry is an alrite captain though, even though he cant play for crap. Steven Gerrard should be the england Captain.

Well, you can believe what you want. but technically Terry's better than Becham as a captain and a player. Bechs does not even have a proper chance of retaining his position in the side.
Becham is the past
Terry's the future.
I do sorta admit that Gerrard might be a lil' better than Terry as captain. But ROONEY!! Are you kidding me? He will start a street fight over there and England will be banned from playing!!!

Beckham have a charisma that not many player have...
i think that to be choosen as skipper...your technics isn't become number one on 'captain score sheet'...
but it's the ability to keep the team spirit ups and stick them together...
it's something that i haven't see from John Terry...he's a good player but sadly i think he didn't have enough of it...
In my opinion...Steven Gerrard is much more deserve to replace Beckham, let see what he could do on final match of Champion league on 2005...while his team left 3-0 from Milan...he could burn the spirits and made them WIN...

I'd say let Terry grow into the position, he hasn't been captain all that long.
As for beckham, I think another former man united player said it best about him as a player, and his own term as captain wasn't much better:

firstly becks didnt retire from england. he was sacked. u dont pick your team because his a 'good leader'. however i still believe he should be in the england team as lennon isnt ready just yet.
i wouldnt say that becks was a good captain however he is better than terrry. i would hav 2 say that neville would hav been good as would hav gerrard.
but neville mayb a bit old. gerrard is great, insperational 4 liverpool. (soz.. but without gerrard liverpool is nothin) but the mid combo of him a lampard isnt workin. worst comes 2 worst lampard should be droped cos gerrard is better. i think that lampard is nothin without makelele.

Yeah,I think so too.And Gerrard is a magnificent captain! Terry is good,but these two people are just better.That's my opinion.
