The obvious answer is 24.
Depending on the meaning of the + sign, it could also mean 1212.
The above assumes you are working in base 10. The answer could be different if you are working to a different base.
eg,
if the numbers are in hexadecimal, then
12 + 12 = 36 (in base 10)
if the numbers are in octal, then
12 + 12 = 20 (in base 10)
If the numbers are in some weird alien system where the unit "1" or "2" mean something else, then try finding the paddle for your canoe so you can navigate back along the creek....

12+12 is 24. Tell me why can't you and your friend get your heads around? Are you thinking this may be a trick question?

12+12=24
you have used the symbol of addition inbetween two numbers so one to add only and that makes it 243. what is the puzzle?
if u r asking what is 12 then indeed it is assumed to be +12 only unless specified otherwise.
for eg if you say 12 on - x axis then only it will be -12.

With numbers that make a square it is no wonder you can not get your heads around it. Think beer, ice cold, hot summer day. Two four
