Lol, I'm really ashamed to admit this, but it was 'Atmosphere' by Russ Abbot back in the 80s! I was only about 7 then and liked it at the time. Thankfully my music taste has got much better! Oh, I had a few Black Lace ones too I remember!

Back in late '60s with my birthday money clutched in my hot little hand I rushed down to Woolies to see what latest albums they had in. I quickly espied a Beatles' album I hadn't seen before and I eagerly awaited the assistant as she placed the sleeve gently in the cover and I handed over my 10/6d.

Imagine my disappointment after rushing home when I stuck it on my Dansette and the harsh(ish) tones of mezzo soprano Cathy Berberian, opera queen, blasted out Eleanor Rigby et al, to a child whose disbelief slowly spread across his face and deep into his soul - which instantly died.... :(

Living my life in a slow Hell. Different girl every night at the hotel. I ain't seen the sun shine in three damn days. And fumeing up of cocaine and wisky. Wish I had a good girl to miss me, Lord I wonder if I'll ever change my ways. I put your picture away. Sat down and we cried today, I came to look at you while I'm lying next to her, I put your picture away. Sat down and we cried today, I came to look at you while I'm lying next to her.

I've been waiting on you for a long time, fuming up on heartaches of cheep wine, I aint heard from you in three damn nights. I put your picture away, I wonder where you've been. I came to look at you while I'm lying next to him. I put your picture away, I wonder where you've been. I came to look at you while I'm lying next to him.
I saw you yesterday with an old friend.
It was the same old same might have you been.
Since you've my worlds been dark and gray.
You reminded the bright of day.
I hope to coming home to stay, I was head of the church.
I was off the drink your way.
I thought you for a long time, can't seem to get you off my mind. I can't understand why were living life this way. I found your picture today. I swear I will change my ways. I just called to say want you to come back home. I found your picture today, I swear I will change my ways, I just called to say I want you to come back home. Well. . . It's time I confessed.

It was my first record ever. He was my hero. I idolised him. I had posters on my walls and I wrote about him in my school books. I even had a doll of him.

He was my world.

His name was Orville the Duck and the song was "I wish I could fly"

Watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=16bgO2kX3XI

Oh the memories. . . sniff sniff can someone pass me a tissue please!

"Who is your very best friend" aaaaaw

I've bought one of the Shaquille O'Neil CD's... yeah, and I haven't thrown it away. I don't think it can get any more embarrassing.

edit:
I forgot to mention why I bought it.... I was curious to know if it was any good. I should have known that it wouldn't be.

Back in the 90's, I bought the Rump Shaker CD. Now that I think about it, a lot of the crap I bought back then was a joke. Vanilla Ice, Shai, Color me Badd......I am soooo ashamed. lol
