well hopefully you have enough time to do your research. ask your teacher what sort of format he/she wants it in (i.e. MLA format is relatively easy) you can then look up how to or examples of the format. then you should be able to find out how to cite and use references within your text along with footnotes. usually term papers need to be in 12 font, double spaced, in times new roman or arial type. usually numbered pages and can be centered, left or right, top or bottom. again ask your teachers preference, maybe he/she can even show you an example. it never hurts to ask

Start by writing up an outline. Include all the things you want to discuss in the outline. Then write one page on each thing. Look each thing up and get some references and use those as footnotes. And take your time. This will take several weeks to do a good job. So start now. Don't wait until the last minute.

Foreign policy is a lot more than immigration and war making. There is a great deal to do with trade agreements, travel restrictions, mail and other shipping and communication agreements, treaties covering all sorts of things. Many are fairly trivial, such as good will visits of big shots from one country to another, but much also is deadly serious. We have to count our spy activities as part and parcel of foreign policy, for example. And much of our bureaucrat-to-bureaucrat communication between countries is so routine it only needs to be monitored by the State Department to see that they are not causing trouble.

Basically, the State Department is responsible for practically all interactions of the US government with other governments. Most of the rest is military.

foreign policy is many things, and it differs from nation to nation.
for example, our policy in the UK is free trade with that nation, open lines of communication, cooperation, intelligence sharing, extradition of criminals back to U.S. and vise verse. English language, and agreements of units of measurement, kilometers vs miles. Knowing where we stand on procedures for crime investigation, and how differing laws effect. Military cooperation, or if it is purely defensive type policy for that particular nation.
