Wow your dog is p*ssy then. I have never ever heard of this situation before in my llife where the cat chased the dog up into a tree.

Yeah they will do it for dogs. It must be a small dog to have gone up a tree.
Try using a ladder. If not then just call them to come get it down

it must be a way bent over leaning towards the ground kind of tree,
why not send the cat up there to chase him down?
or don't you have your cat trained to do that?
