The Transamerica Building has a super bright beacon at its top that only seems to be lit during a short time in December. What dates are it lit, and for how long each night?

I've never seen it lit for Thanksgiving or 4th of July. What I want to know is how many days it is lit during December, and for how long each night.

I'm not angry, just frustrated that I can't find this information anywhere. Not even the Transamerica Building's own website mentions what I want to know.

I created the following photo two years ago, and want to recreate it, but I don't have a car now and need to be able to schedule a ride with a friend to get to Treasure Island. I don't want to waste anyone else's time if the beacon is not lit.

Thanks for your help so far. :)

The light is on for Thanksgiving, christmas and the 4th of July. I got that info from Wikipedia

It's on until New Years Day. Don't get angry with me, I'm just telling you what I researched. I've never noticed it on at the 4th of July either but I plan on checking on this up coming one.

I also know that that light is pretty new. Back in the 70's and 80's they had a miniture sleigh and reindeer circling the top of the building.

I know for sure that it is on Christmas Eve, as it was last year. They should have it on all the time it's so pretty!
