My friend is really beautiful but she thinks shes ugly and has very low self esteem, how can I help?

My friend is only 14 and she is 5'9 and has a great body, but she still thinks shes ugly because no guy has ever asked her out or has liked her because she is so tall, she feels really bad because she is the only one at partys who dosen't get asked to dance and she is really, really genuinly kind hearted, standing up for people who have called her names and put her down, but she never gets noticed for these things.

14 is a VERY awkward age for all kids. You're too young to act like an adult, and too old to act like a child. I had a pretty rough time too. Just tell your friend that she needs to love and respect herself. If she can't do that for herself, how can she expect others too? Believe me, life goes on after Junior High! The boys will catch up with her height, and things will change. They always do. :)

Just keep being her friend. It doesn't mean a thing that guys don't ask her out yet, she is only 14. What you should do is take a few photos.....send them to the Ford Agency in NY....People are always telling me to model but at 5'6" I was never tall enough. She is....and like you said she is beautiful and kind. Ford will notice that....other than that only time and maturity in others will make the difference. Guys do get to a point in maturity where height doesn't matter to them.....hell hun, point out her assets to her.....like great long legs....I am sure she has lovely ones....guys will notice those eventually, haven't met a man yet who doesn't!!!!

You are probably not going to be able to make her feel pretty. The best thing to do is just be her friend the way that you have been and hope for the best. If the problem is that she is tall, give it a year or two and the guys will start growing also.

just tell her that there is a lot of difference in being beautiful and being attractive........ u can be beautiful if u r blessed by God but being attractive is all about attituted and you must be convienced that you look good no matter how you look if you feel beautiful it shows in your attitude and people get attracted to you.......so its just about loving yourself if you feel you are the best people around you will feel the same if you yourself cannot then you cannot make anyone do so

confidence is the biggest sex appeal so tell her to be confident in any sorts of condition
time will test her but if she keeps on with it she will b a hottie in the class and well models have such height but they r so confident even katie holmes is 5'9 and yet look where she is so never be depressed

Wait until she is 16+ and then she'll realise that she isn't an ugly duckling, but a beautiful swan...

Until then, I think she is just after the attention that you and probably other friends give her...

she is taller than most of the guys in her class. if you want her to drop that low self esteem then you need to hook her up with someone older and taller than her. that will get everyone to shut the hell up.
