It isn't building the satellite that's difficult. Several groups of college students have built satellites. The hard part is getting it into orbit, so you can actually call it a satellite. You have to put it on a launch vehicle which can put it into the orbit you want. Good luck with that!

The Great Spirit did rather a good job of it using nothing more than gas, dust particles, and gravity.
