if you have the money to spare you can buy a humidifier, or if you're cheap like me lol, you can put pans of water on your stove and let them boil, it puts moisture into the air. If you have vaporizers those work too because they put the mist (moisture) into the air.

They're right. Large humidifiers (I have one somewhere from when I had asthma back when dinosaurs roamed the earth lol) or, as I do...several pans of water on the stove or on top of a floor heater, just be sure and watch it, NEVER let it run dry or while you are away. (You can put vanilla or cinnamon or the like in the pot to make your house smell holidayish, as well).
Run the hot water in the shower with the door open occassionally...or just open the bathroom door after a shower.
This is awful but I'll tell it. When I was married before, hubby was *********************** and we were poor and had only ONE floor heater, gas, in the living room. I had babies and the house was always cold and we stayed sick. So....
I took the dryer "accordion" pipe off the back and vented the hot, humid air into the house.
The walls dripped with water because I did it so much but at least the babies and I were warm. lol

where we live the outdoor temps get beyond cold and the air can be very dry. we have forced air heat at our house, to add humidity to the air i will sometimes put a folding clothes drying rack over the heat duct. when the clothes are dry i throw them in the dryer on air fluff to soften them up a bit. not only does it add moisture to the air...it cuts down on the electric bill

Be careful not to overdue it with a vaporizer, or you can get mold started. Try a cool mist vaporizer.
