purchased for your son back that he keeps. The total is now over 100 dollars worth of clothes. They are all of his warm clothes and when I pick my son up from his house I almost always get him back in just a diaper. I always have my son dressed to stay warm in these cold temperatures, and his dad keeps keeping all of the clothes that I have bought. His dad pays 150 a month is child support till i get court orders and thinks this is to much. I am working 2 jobs to keep my son clothed and feed and shelterd. What do I do in this situation?

The clothes belong to the child. My ex-wife plays this game. When I buy something for my daughter, it belongs to her, no strings. If she wants to take it to her mother's apartment, that is fine with me, it belongs to her. If she wants to keep it at home, that's cool too.

I get requests all the time for her to wear a certain outfit back to the apartment. I comply, but it seems silly to me to control a childs clothes in that fashion. I believe this deprives the child of an opportunity to learn responsibility.

If he's paying child support, then he too is paying in some fashion for those clothes.

Let the child decide where he wants to keep his stuff. If he leaves it at dads and wants to wear it, it's a great lesson to teach him to manage his stuff.

PS, well, maybe in a few years, I just noticed the diaper thing at the end.

Send him in one outfit, tell you ex-husband he has to stock up so he has clothes the child can wear at his place.

When your son is 5+ years old, he can begin to manage his clothing and you can begin to hold the child responsible for where his outfits are kept.

Easy...just tell the fool to give the childs clothing back. Don't take no for an answer.

when you go to pick him up....ask where his clothes are, so you can put them back on him.
