Generally, I think this genre has been overated and misguided.

It was good when you had rappers who rapped about the society, the world, the feeling's of someone to something , about issues .....and whip up with some really cool beats and base to it.....I personnaly like Kanye's -Gold digger and Through the wire,
Black Eyed Peas- Where is the Love and Don't Phunk with My Heart, and Missy's - Work It....

But I guess, most of the rappers just lose it......especially with all those female body manipulation and a$$ shaking in the media . Imagining those kids watching it and applied it to thier brain.

Oh boy! by just thinking about that makes me feel like it's the end of the world.

I think there's a lot of great relatively unknown rap and hip-hop out there like Beans, Jurassic 5, Digable Planets, etc. I think the underground stuff is some of the most intelligent and vital music out there. It's like the kind of poetry that's still alive and creative.

Most of the mainstream/radio rap and hip-hop is totally uncreative, commercial, and over-hyped. But that's the way it is for most mainstream music.

Rap and Hip Hop are very creative and cutting edge with their beats. But they have a down fall. The people who listen to the music think that they have to be harder then the next (guy/girl) so its usually infused with violence and drugs. Sad really when if they promoted things other than treating women like objects and guns. They could have a powerful positive movement. Its not Rap/Hip Hop that kills, its the idiots who believe that its cool or fun to harm other living things.

So..to rap it up....
BAY AREA RAP-is the best, but E-40 did sell out..
DIRTY SOUTH- suck unless you like hearing "ok,what, alright" repeatedly......but triple six is ok with me....."colder than a blizard in alaska"..lol
AND THE EAST COAST -isnt even on the map, JAYZ sucks pole!

I love it. I was born and raised on it. It gets lame when everybody takes it so serious, but its good either way. I hate rap videos though. I could mute every video and its all the same.

girls shaking ***
girls in pools
girls shaking *** in front of cars
cars in front of girls

Same things..but either way I still love it. I mean you can't say that there isn't one form of music that hasn't been influenced by hip-hop so I think everybody loves it in some form or fashion!

Rap/Hip-Hop just aint what it used to be. Anybody can cut an album these days. I'm an old school fan. Don't get me wrong though, all new stuff is not bad just most of it.

I think the majority of rap infects our society by praising gangsters and illegal activies. Additionally they treat women like objects and display an unresponsible use of money. Quite tacky at times. If the music focused on a more positive issue, I feel it would be fine.

it used to be my favorite genre growing up. But now I only listen to it when i'm pissed off or feeling down..... or when I just don't want to think!! However, it's the best genre for night clubs!

All music is good. It has a rhythm, it rhymes, or it doesn't, but its still music. I am not forced to buy music, and I dont think that I ever will be forced to. So its all good.
