It's not always intuitive. Some things in math are just plain strange! For example, when I first learned about converging infinite sequences, I was scratching my head for weeks!
But the fact is, math is fundamental in our lives. Without math, we couldn't do the simplest things, like cooking good food or counting the minutes. While unnatural, it's irreplaceable.

You are either right brained or a left brained, since math is controlled by the left brain, then math people are not in their 'right' mind... (i can say that cause i teach/tutor math)... That was just a joke, but I believe it has to do with a false concept that math is hard, too detailed, strictly right or wrong answers and methods... we can all do math visually but written math is conceptional. If you saw a pile of 3 apples and 6 apples, pushed them together, you can say now I have 9 apples, but 3 + 6 is just a concept.. 3 and 6 must represent to your mind the 3 apples and 6 apples. Prolly the last time most of us liked math was when it was this simple and we were in kindergarten, then math jumps to 3*6, and you are not taught that you should visually see this to be 3 rows of 6 apples, for 18 apples... so in short, we treat math like... a FOREIGN LANGUAGE.

Well..... Teachers rather telling the Child that MAth isnt a Tough TOpic stress the Child to Study it hard coz its Tough......
Moreover SOme pEOple's Brains are mAde is a Way that they dont like to Analyse things...... thats what math needs and this is one of the reason People dont like Math......
Others find it Difficult coz either they have been Programmed by seniors that its too difficult for u or either due to some previous failure in math out of which they arent able to cope up again.....

Because it doesn't make sense, and it is not useful. I have almost never had to use any of the math I learned at school. I know if I have too much, and certainly when there is not enough. More information is redundant.

the stigma that math is difficult subject drive people to hate math..... besides people do not like to analyze because they are already tired of analysing their own existence...

It needs to memories lots of formula and when it comes to big digit it really give me a big headache.

I just don't comprehend it as well as other subjects like english/literature.
