Really a super high level question from a teenager...... God bless you!

Those who live are those who either love the life or fear the death or both.

Living merely to avoid death is extremely primitive and can hardly give us any satisfaction.

In order that we love our life, we need to rise above simply fulfilling our basic needs like food etc....... and this is the point you are rightly pondering over.

The next level is achievement to satisfy our ego..... for example, by excelling in a field compared to others or acquiring power over other people. Even at this level, which gives higher satisfaction than just meeting our basic needs, we end up with two issues.... firstly, the ego is never satisfied fully and keeps asking for more and more and....... secondly, as we succeed in excelling over others, we become more and more vulnerable because we keep earning other people's displeasure or even opposition.

To be able to love life, we need to rise further above and look for spiritual satisfaction....... I do not mean the rituals or religion ....... true spirituality lies in thinking, speaking and doing good ..... good in the spiritual sense means that which is helpful and beneficial to others. This gives us a sublime satisfaction that we are using our precious life in the best possible manner to the maximum benefit of everyone, without incurring any displeasure of others while getting immense satisfaction for ourselves too.

This is how and this why we should live!!

Hope, you get something meaningful here in the answer ..... if you benefit, I would obviously get the spiritual satisfaction that I have stated above!

God bless you!!

Ernie "Mr. Cub" Banks Come on now they already gave him a statue at Wrigley hall of Famer What are you able to ask for from a living Cubbie yet you additionally can bypass with Ryno or Ron. Its pathetic that Ron Santo hasnt been voted into the HoF yet.

Your question is the centrepiece of all religious and philosophical thought. And after thousands of years of religion and sophistry, no one has come up with an answer that works for everyone. The best I have come up with (and your milage may vary) is that by my living I hope to ease the cares and concerns of others just that little bit. Even if it has no meaning on a cosmic scale, it makes me feel better. :) Goddess bless . . .

There is no "WHY?" to our existence, as far as I'm concerned (unless we were geneticaly engineered by some alien race...or you believe in the fairy tale of God(s))

Anyways, the only "why?" we have is the "why?" we create- our politicians and beurocracies want us to live the life you described because it benefits them- the minority - ultimately at your expense; you are an important cog in their machine- that is the purpose they create for you. Most people create their own purpose to live the said life because they have a material desire that they feel they must fulfill. And some live to ask questions such as the one you did. In my opinion, the latter one is the best "why?"

it sounds to me, like your question is more along the lines of "why do we go on"? not "why do we live". For each of us i think the spacfics are diffrent but more or less for the same reason as everyone else: fear. What happens if we dont go on? was it all a waste of time? Where do we go, if somewhere, in the end? Why does life matter, i wonder, might be the bigger question. and that ones easy: if it dident....what a giant waste of space.
"its not that life is so short; its that death is so long"
good luck

Read: Scientology: The Fundamentals of Thought, by L. Ron Hubbard. If you honestly have the question, Scientology has the answers. Read for yourself and find out for yourself. It can't hurt to read a book.

So others will not be alone. That is what is all comes down to. The only thing worse then not living would be the only one alive.

To experience negativity for us and for God. Not being sarcastic, just that if I explained this it would be long and I don't want to write a book. But good q.

we live to feel the beauty of God's love..we live because we are the only living creatures that fills the world with colors...we live because GOD WANTS US TO...you have to be grateful...
