Some women are very quiet. Most women make some noise, others scream and yell and cry. It mostly depends on the woman's personality. Some are quiet becasue they are so focused on what they are doing. Most all make noise especially when pushing. It is also natural to take in a deep breath in and expell it slowly. Part of the noise making is how a woman can manage control over the pain.
Those who scream and yell tend to have more pain than others do because they are out of control of their breathing during a contraction. They actually work against themselves by screaming..
Let me explain why a woman might scream or make noise during labor.....Take your balls in your hands. pull them up over your shoulder while someone hits you on the back. You inside guts are contracing without any of your control. Then push a basket ball out of your buttttttttox
that might give you an idea why a woman might make a noise.

when giving birth most of women scream, some are not. it is very painful.
on my experience, during "labor" my doctor adviced me not to make noises, it surprises the baby as a result, the baby's heart beats faster & at the same time it makes the baby pee in his mom's womb which is dangerous!
and also in giving birth, my dr said that, as much as possible avoid screaming it may cause goiter for the mother.
so instead of making noises, replace it with deep & short breaths..

Um yeah this is a crazy question. You make noises of pain and screams. You do not just sit there and enjoy it. It hurts you are squeezing a child out. If you are asking this and about to have a child you are in for some painful screams and then the wonderful sigh of relief when your child is born and you see him or her for the first time.

During the contractions I was in too much pain to make any noise at all. But while pushing the baby out I Yelled out, I think it was more of a momentum thing to get the job done. My mom had twins naturally and never even acted like she was in pain, because her husband said if she acted like it hurt he was leaving. So she did it with a smile on her face. but she has since divorced him.

you wouldn't believe the noise a woman can make when she is giving birth. I know with my second baby I didn't use any pain medication and I was pretty loud with my screaming and moaning. It hurts soooo bad.

Have you seen Bill Cosby's comedy interpretation of his wife in labor? He's right on. Picture your genitals (gentlemen) in a vice grip, even if you have an epidural there is pressure involved and the epidural does wear off after the delivery. The answer is yes there are some sounds, odd faces and regression to childhood amidst the pain. If you are the support person, please do your job! I absolutely hate seeing support persons snoring in the labor room while the laboring patient is gripping the bed in pain.

Uh, yeah.
Find a male who's passed a kidney stone. Maybe your dad or a friend. Ask him if he made noise while he was doing that, and why. Then think about how much bigger a baby is.

yes..they do..if its painful and particularly in normal pregnancy...the muscles of the vagina try to push out the child and the muscles contract...giving birth to a baby isn't easy and its quite painful unless u take anesthesia.
so it does hurt for most women..!
