I am poor and living with an addiction. lame. anyway, my best friends birthday is soon (3 days) and with the 20 bucks I have to get her something with, do I go with the $10 coffe mug (because she loves her coffee in a purdy mug) and a $10 bottle of wine, or just a $20 bottle of wine? they both suck, i know. jesus help me. listen folks, i'm being so cheap right now because her birthday is so close to christmas. i like to save the best for last so her birthday is kind of like the tiny start and then her christmas present is totally awesome, you understand? is that OK? no?
please help me! oi.

If you are going to get her a coffee mug, then why not get her something that goes with it, rather than something that is totally unrelated like a bottle of wine.
For example, a coffee mug, really good coffee, mints (like After Eights) to eat with the coffee, sugar on a stick, trashy book to read while drinking coffee. Wrap it all up in cellophane like they do for gift baskets in shop to give it a designer look.
Hope this helps.

I say go with the coffee mug and bottle of wine. a bottle of wine, no matter how expensive it is gonna be gone sooner or later, whereas the mug you get her she will have for a really long time.

Go with the coffee mug. Caffeine may be addictive, but it's better than an alcohol addiction.

Get her a really cool mug, nothing to do with xmas, and fill it up with chocolate and lighters. I give this to my brother and law every year, and it is really, really, all he ever wanted.

give her a $20 dinner at a buffet. she doesn't need a cup. the wine reminds her of your addiction.

it doesn't really matter how you spend, if you're truly thinking about her; and she's a true friend , she won't care. just think about her and surely you could think of something that would tickle her .
go with your heart, do the best you can, she'll understand,
if she doesn't maybe she' not as best a friend as you think.
