Which days are bad to start something important or new according to Indian customs...?

One that I know of is Amavasya/New Moon Day...

Amavasya is generally considered a good day to start something. Generally days in the waxing phase is considered auspicious for starting something new. I have heard of Ashtami being not good for that.
