1 inch is about 2.54 centimeters. However, 1 inch cubed is not 2.54 centimeters cubed. Explain why.

1^3 is equal to 1, however 2.54^3 does not equal to 2.54; it equals 16.387.

For the same reason that a cube 1 ft on each side is 1 ft. cubed but that is not the same as if it is in inches which is 1728 inches cubed which is also 1 ft. cubed. They are in different units.
