Can America keep Mexico's corruption in line by simply merging with them?

I would rather go to war with them than merge. Though bogus illegal treaties like NAFTA and CAFTA are aimed at ending our soverignty, I believe independence is worth fighting, killing, and dying for.

Back in the days leading up to the cold war some people thought it wise to take actions destabalizing the political and economical environment and neighboring regions like Mexico and other South American countries. The thinking was based on nationalism and put an emphasis on domination over cooperation. The steps taken effectivly created a huge gap in the quality of life between the U.S. and it's surrounding nations. The best way to end the corruption of Mexico is if the U.S. worked to improve the quality of life and education in Mexico insted of leting American buisnesses exploit the corruption and cheap labor. By the way, same thing goes for China and India and a few more smaller countries.

Keep Mexico's corruption in line by merging with them? I don't know, but I think the US is just as corrupt, just in different ways. Besides, nobody's mentioning whether Mexico would want to merge with the US: we're only the most paranoid, murderous, debt-ridden nation outside the third world.

I'm considering moving to Mexico, just so I don't have to worry about being drafted.

It's funny that you mention this....according to the White House website, there are plans in motion to (I will use this term loosely), "unify" the continent. Including Canada, Mexico, and America.

They have plans in place to build a NAFTA super-highway through the heart of the country. There have also been rumors floating around about a new currency called the Amero, that will replace our dollar.

This is the only way I can think to justify our governments lackadaisical approach to illegal immigration.

And before you ask, yes this is mainstream news and not some wacky conspiracy theory.

How about we give them California back and build a much higher fence from Texas to the top of California. That way we could keep out the illegal aliens and lose the land of the ACLU too?

Move the nation's capitol to Corpus Christie.

Make sure everyone learns to speak a new language -- a blending of our two tongues into "Spanglish."

Make sure they understand that we have no official religion. Isn't Catholicism the official religion in all of the Latin American countries?

No way. Not now. Too high property values here... they'd drop like rocks.. too much infrastructure spending would be needed...
