I wish to run for public office in my state some day but..?
i plan on getting a job in the FBI or CIA first for 15-20 years. which of the 2 would be best to join?

(i cant join the army because of my asthma history...even though i can run a mile with no problem.)

Go with politics. CIA or FBI isn't that good a job. You don't make enough money and it will take years off your potential political career.

I disagree with the CIA answer I would have to say FBI. You rarely hear of anyone from the CIA getting into politics, I would say if you go to 1 or the other go to the FBI and than work your ways into Politics in the last 3 years before you leave the FBI.... you could also go towards homeland security in the political field...Good Luck with whatever you choose.
Both would be a Great career.

Senator Porter Goss and George HW Bush were both in the CIA. There's tons of other CIA officials that have made their way into politics.

CIA most likely, you could shoot for data analyst or something not related to fieldwork.
